Autumn Markley Salon (“Autumn Markley Salon,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, when you book with us, and when you call, text or email the salon, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using this website or contacting us, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us.

• Your name, phone number and email address when you call, text or email the salon.
• What you tell us about your hair and the service you want, including photos you send us.
• Booking details. Appointments are booked through Phorest, our booking provider, which collects the details you enter there under its own privacy policy.

• Device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system, screen size and IP address.
• The pages you view, how long you stay, and the links you click, including links to book.
• How you found us: the referring website, campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters) and ad click IDs (such as Google’s gclid or Meta’s fbclid), including referrals from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude.

2. How we use your information

• To answer your questions, schedule and confirm appointments, and provide our services.
• To send appointment reminders and service messages you have asked for.
• To understand which pages, searches and campaigns bring clients to the salon, so we can improve the website and our marketing.
• To keep records of our communications with you in our client relationship system.
• To protect the website and our business, and to meet legal obligations.

3. Text messages (SMS)

If you text the salon, or agree to receive texts from us, we may send you messages about your appointments, your service, and occasional salon updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of booking.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing. We share it only with the providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.

4. Cookies, local storage and analytics

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics measure how the website is used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on (opens in a new window).
• Visit-source record. We keep a small record in your browser’s local storage of how you first and most recently reached the website (the channel, campaign tags and landing page) and of booking links you click. It stays on your device, and you can delete it by clearing your browser’s site data. When you follow a booking link, the link itself tells Phorest which service or stylist you chose and carries a random click reference, so we can see which pages lead to bookings.
• Google Maps. Pages with our map embed Google Maps, which may set its own cookies.
• IntentWave. We use IntentWave, a visitor-identification service. Its script stores an identifier in your browser and may match your visit to contact or business information from IntentWave’s own data sources, so we can understand who is researching our services.
• Your choices. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s analytics and advertising storage is off by default, and we do not keep our own visit-source record. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we turn off Google’s advertising-related signals for your visit. You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.

5. How we share your information

We share your information with the service providers that help us run the salon and this website, under their own privacy terms:

• Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Maps, and our Google Business Profile reviews)
• HighLevel (our client relationship and messaging system)
• Phorest (online booking)
• Square (gift cards)
• R+Co, through the Refersion affiliate program, when you follow our link to its online shop
• IntentWave (visitor identification)
• Vercel (website hosting)

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

6. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our services, keep accurate client records, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and then delete or anonymize it.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it.
• Ask us to delete or correct it.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal as this opt-out.
• Not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

9. Children's privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Appointments for minors are made by a parent or guardian.

10. Third-party links

This website links to sites we do not control, such as Phorest, Square, R+Co and Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. See also our Terms of Service.
